Museum Technician

World Wildlife-Heritage Museum, Concord, CA has an immediate opening for a fulltime Museum Technician.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Using extreme care and established art handling guidelines, prepares, hangs, mounts, and installs objects, artifacts and themed dioramas for exhibits.
• Constructs and prepares props and backgrounds for exhibits, vitrines, and showcases. Constructs and prepares exhibition platforms and pedestals. Prepares and installs general exhibition effects.
• Use hand power tools and rigging equipment.
• Movement and preparations of exhibition furniture and casework for exhibition galleries. Assembles and mounts wall panels, labels, photographs, and other materials.
• Works with curators and registrars on installation and deinstallation projects.
• Works with curators and registrars to organize, clean, and maintain art storage.
• Operation of scissor lifts, Gantries, transit vans, Box trucks, and Fork trucks.
• Up to date on museum function and industry best practices.
