Collections Manager
The Collections Manager is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for the stewardship, care, and accessibility of the San Diego History Center’s diverse collections. This newly created role reflects the Center’s commitment to inclusive, community-centered collections stewardship. Overseeing a team of four Collections Specialists, the Manager ensures comprehensive care and strategic development across distinct collecting areas and material types. Responsibilities include collections management, registration, conservation, and archives, all aligned with best museum practices and the Center’s mission. The Manager fosters a collaborative and forward-thinking environment that supports preservation, public access, exhibitions, and research. Additionally, this role contributes to advancing the organization’s Culture of Philanthropy.
