Kevin McGarry

Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation

Kevin McGarry (M.Ed., M.Sc.) is the Associate Director for Public Engagement at the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation. At SBTHP, Kevin oversees the Visitor Experience, Programs and Curatorial departments, as well as the Presidio Research Center. He is also managing editor of SBTHP’s publication, La Campana. A credentialed teacher with advanced degrees in history & education and fifteen years in the field of public history, Kevin also serves as Vice President of the California Association of Museums and co-chairs CAM's Program Committee. He also serves as Board Secretary & Governance Committee chair for the Santa Barbara County Office of Education's Children’s Creative Project, a nonprofit organization that brings arts education & experiences to over 75,000 youth in schools across the Central Coast each year.

Nicole Miller-Coleman

Criterion Nonprofit, LLC

Nicole Miller-Coleman is a writer and consultant with more than two decades of experience working with cultural and mission-driven organizations. As President of Criterion Nonprofit, she helps museums and nonprofit institutions align message, resources, and strategy. Nicole has worked at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the Museum of Photographic Arts, the San Diego Model Railroad Museum, and the Centro Cultural de la Raza. She has served in governance and advisory roles across the cultural sector, including as Board President of the Women’s Museum of California. She currently serves on the California Association of Museums’ Development and Equity Advisory Committees. Nicole holds a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership and management from the University of San Diego and is pursuing an MBA at the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP), and earned credentials in Design Strategies for Impactful Storytelling (Stanford d.school) and Foundations of Racial Equity (University of San Diego and RISE San Diego). Criterion Nonprofit is a member of the Public Relations Association of America and Business for Good San Diego.
