Nicole Miller-Coleman
Nicole Miller-Coleman is a writer, strategist, and nonprofit leader with more than two decades of experience at the intersection of communications, fundraising, and organizational strategy. She is President of Criterion Nonprofit, a women-owned consulting practice serving cultural, environmental, and community-rooted organizations.
Nicole works with leadership teams to strengthen revenue strategy, align communications with mission, and build systems that support long-term sustainability. Her approach integrates fundraising, storytelling, and organizational planning so institutions can earn trust, steward resources responsibly, and grow with discipline.
She has served in senior and fractional leadership roles across nonprofit institutions and has contributed to state and local review panels, including the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture’s Organizational Support Program and the CORO Southern California Fellows Program.
Nicole holds a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership and management from the University of San Diego and is pursuing an MBA at the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP), and she serves on the California Association of Museums’ Development and Equity Advisory Committees. She also holds credentials in Design Strategies for Impactful Storytelling (Stanford d.school) and Foundations of Racial Equity (University of San Diego and RISE San Diego), and memberships with the Public Relations Association of America and Business for Good San Diego.
